Revision is a life long process. Specifically, his revision piece taught me the importance of the revision process along with the importance and role that audience and genre play in a piece. This piece was previously written in a classic argumentative paper format, and then was then transformed into a feature piece.

Ellen Defossez
In this course, you will be introduced to the study of a phenomenon that you engage in everyday: communication. We will explore the role of communication in a number of contexts, including inter/cultural contexts, interpersonal contexts, and even intrapersonal contexts (i.e. communication within ourselves). We will also examine how communication functions in its various forms: verbal (the use of written or spoken language), nonverbal (communication that occurs outside of written or spoken language) and rhetorical (communication that aims at persuasion—some would say all communication falls into this category). Along the way, we will also cover topics such as perception, listening, empathy, and identity.
